- PATNA HC – RECORDS SUO MOTO CASE AGAINST ATTORNEY ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTING TO RAPE LAW INTERN – Niranjan Kumar, an attorney, is accused of attempting to rape a law student intern inside his office last month. The Patna High Court has filed a suo motu case against him.

- HC – COURT CAN IMPLEMENT MAINTENANCE ORDER AGAINST PERSON LIVING OUTSIDE OF ITS JURISDICTION – The Kerala High Court has ruled that although if a maintenance order may be enforced where the party it is filed against resides, the court also has the right to carry it out outside the area where the party is staying.

- DELHI HIGH COURT – COURT CANNOT REVIEW ORDER PASSED UNDER SECTION 11 OF A&C ACT – According to the Delhi High Court, as the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (A&C Act) does not contain a review clause, decisions made in an application filed under Section 11 of the A&C Act cannot be reviewed.

- MADRAS HC – IT IS IMPROPER TO IDENTIFY A DANCE FORM BY THE NAME OF A COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO OFFEND COMMUNITY MEMBERS. – The Madras High Court has instructed the State to make sure that no dance performance is recognised using a caste or tribal community’s name in an effort to disparage or offend the members of that community.

- DELHI HC – ALL CAPFS PERSONNEL ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE OLD PENSION SCHEME – While noting that paramilitary forces are armed forces of the Union, the Delhi High Court ruled that all Central Armed Police Forces members should be eligible for benefits under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) under the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972. (CAPF).
